Well it’s that time it seems, only one day left until reezle.com ceases to exist.

In one way it feels a bit like an end of an era, swydm.com (before the daft renaming) was my first foray into the world of social networking sites many years ago.

On the other hand, like a lot of people, the site started to die out several years ago after the forums were removed and then many of the old regulars disappeared.

But it still feels strange to know that the whole thing will be over tomorrow.

I know after the rename to reezle, the swydm site was restarted as a test site, but the problem is it still feels like a test site, and it seems the sort of place people go once and don’t bother going back since there’s just nothing there to do.

So I guess the internet moves on.

I know a lot of members seem to have moved to facebook, but I have to admit I have no intentions of following.  I’ve never quite got the point of facebook, since you can only find people you already know, and if I know them I clearly already have ways of contacting them (email or telephone anybody?)

So I think I’ll be sticking with my blog (http://www.nakedfraggle.com), Myspace and Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/rennie_le_smurf)

I’ve been a bit lax with my blogging of late, both writing and reading.

On the writing side, it’s partly been lack of anything interesting worth writing about.  But the other big reason for lack of writing and reading is a distinct lack of time.

I’ve been trying out a new therapy for ME/CFS, and so far so good!

Well, it seems I’ve eaten something that didn’t agree with me as I’ve reverted back to looking like a lobster and flaking like some kind of reptile. I’ve got some new cream to try which is a lovely shade of neon orange, so I currently look like a dry-roasted Oompah Loompah.

I’m not sure if that’s a good thing…

Not to mention the heat, I’m pretty sure, as with must things, a sudden hot, burning sensation isn’t really a good sign…

Oh and it looks like I’ve got my wordpress fixed, yay me!

It seems two things are now official. Firstly baby season has started, and secondly our neighbours are not talking to us. Surprisingly the two facts are more closely connected than you would expect. (more…)

What a week it’s been this week.

I had my eye test on Tuesday, and my prescription is too strong, so it looks like the eye exercises have been working, and that was just after a week, so if I can keep going, a few more months and I might be off glasses and contact lenses completely!

I managed to kill the computer too.

Again.

I still have no idea what I managed to do, but  whatever it was it took out my main computer and  did something to the back-up drive, so I’ve spent the last couple of days reinstalling the computer and then having to copy all my files back from the laptop.

I’ve been slipping again lately, so I’m making a concentrated effort to stop procrastinating.

I seem to spend half my life not able to do things and the other half putting them off.  So no more!

So far in the last week I’ve completely reinstalled my blog and all the plug-ins and it’s running much faster with a nice clean database, so it was worth the effort.

Don’t you just hate spending hours trying out a new recipe, only take take one mouthful, gag violently and then have to figure out two things.

1. How do you dispose of it if it’s too thick to pour down the drain but too runny to put in the bin
2. What are you supposed to eat now?

Needless to say we went for the pouring down the sink option for issue 1, only to block all the drains.  All these years and we’ve never had a blocked drain.  We actually had to go out and buy a plunger to clear it.

It’s time things changed around here.

I’m trying to get back on my diet and get off all the chocolate and back to healthy food and more fruit and vegetables.

I’m also trying to dig out my exercise machine.

It’s been six years since my last CFS relapse and I’m getting more than a little stir-crazy.  The past month is the first time I’ve actually felt unhealthy though, so it’s time for a change.

First thing I’ve done is sign up to twitter.

I had some bad news the other day, our little Hedgehog didn’t make it, she died on Sunday morning.

I really thought she was going to be OK, but I guess their little bodies can only take so much before they just can’t recover. 

Well it’s certainly been a while hasn’t it?  It wasn’t until I logged in to check my plugins that I realised it’s nearly three months since I last posted.

As the title suggests, I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately, I’ve just had nothing worth writing about, and hardly surprising when I’ve been spending my days just passing the time until I could go back to bed.

On the plus side, I’ve been watching (and singing along to) the Chipmunks movie more often than is healthy!
