The wine is very nice, although now I've changed it I think I prefer the blue, but that could just be because it matches my laptop

The software is good enough until you can get something better, it's just very basic for long term use.

The case was part of a special offer from QVC, although it didn't really have enough padding to protect the camera any. Once I get the measurements sorted I'm planning on getting something suitable from
<a href="http://www.sfbags.com/products/iphonetravelcase/iphonetravelcase.htm" rel="nofollow">Waterfield Pouch</a> which I know have very substantial padding.

I have the same camcorder. The color sold it for me. And I don't really have much problem with the photos myself. Thanks for the tip on the serial number thing. I don't have any other movie editing software at the moment, otherwise I wouldn't be bothering to install it.

And yours came with a case? Did you order it or get it from the store? I ordered mine through Dell (I get a discount that way) and I was bummed that a case didn't come with it.

I'm afraid the paranoid in me says that's not a very good idea, security and all. Plus I can't think of a single legitimate reason you could possibly need my serial number, sorry.

I've noticed a trend in technology of late, the newer the gadget, the bigger the handbook. Wouldn't be so bad, but the handbooks are anything but clear and simple.

Must be a common thing for us to get cams this year. I got a Canon HD20 and was pretty impressed with it although the features are a tad overwhelming with a novel sized book to go with it

Glad to be of help. The Waterfield Camera case looks a bit small for the camcorder, but I'm thinking of getting one for my little camera.

allen - Happy to help. The case is a canon case, it came as part of a bundle with the camera. As far as I can tell the case isn't available seperately yet.

The only place I've been able to find the case is on the UK QVC site (<a href="http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail/params.item.559276/walk.yah.UKEL-UK20" rel="nofollow">Canon FS100</a>) which has a few other photos of the camera and accessories, including the case.

It's a plain black lining, so it didn't show up at all in photos. It is fully padded, although it's quite a soft foam padding so I'm not entirely sure how much protection it would offer. The camera has a built in automatic lens cap, so the case is purely for protection against bumps and scratches.

Personally when I get the replacement I'm planning on getting a <a href="http://www.sfbags.com/products/iphonetravelcase/iphonetravelcase.htm" rel="nofollow">Waterfield Pouch</a>. They're not the cheapest thing in teh world, but the construction is excellent and they're far better padded than the canon case, plus extra little padded pockets for spare batteries and spare memory cards (the canon case holds the camera only). I just need to figure out the right size when the replacement arrives.

I hope that helps you a bit.
