Carry on my wayward son…
03/06/2008
Two things just occurred to me today.
Quite why these two things, and why today *shrugs* Your guess is as good as mine.
1st thought of the day…
If you go on a boat trip they have to have enough life jackets, and certain numbers of life boats (titanic anyone?)
So how come you go on a plane and you’re provided with a cheap looking oxygen mask but no parachute?
2nd thought of the day…
Why is it when you talk to a non-native English speaking person, it never matters how bad their English is, they always know a volley of swear words in English?

Well by law, they are supposed to have enough lifejackets and life boats but then there’s the titanic where that was proven to not be the proper numbers.
On a plane you get these cool little flotation devices, that’s assuming you’d still be alive when a plane goes down at sea.
I think they teach non-native English speaking persons the swear words first.

For the same reason that the only spanish I know is swear words.

Hmm… You know I still think if I’m going to be that far up in the air, I’d rather have a parachute and risk it than rely on crashing safely in a large enough body of water just so I can use their little flotation devices!
I’m pleased to say I don’t know any obscenities in any language other than my own
