Life — Ren @ 10:35 pm
The weather has been pretty rotten the past week. We had a couple of days of heavy rain, so much so when I went out to feed the birds on Thursday night, the ground was like mud.
Then Friday the winds started. We regularly get high winds this time of year, but they were particularly strong the past few days, up to 73 miles an hour during the night. That coupled with the very soft ground from all the rain has not done the trees any good.
I think we’ve lost one tree in the neighbours garden. That in itself wouldn’t be such a problem except that it’s the old apple tree coated in wild ivy, and home to at least a couple of dozen birds, none of whom are overly thrilled at the strange angle the tree is now listing.

There’s two things I really dislike about getting American Imported DVD’s, the silly double clips they have on so many of their DVD cases, and those stupid security seal stickers they have over every edge, but underneath the cellophane.
Am I the only one who thinks that’s a bit of overkill?
But that’s kind of off the point… Stardust

Quite a week this week, so far my ISP is throwing a tantrum because I said I wanted to leave.
My mother isn’t speaking to me… Although she is still managing to scream like a fishwife, go figure!
I had my medical on Monday for benefits, and it’s still only Wednesday!

Thursday was a bit of a surprise, I’ve been so used to the mild weather this winter, waking up to a world covered in snow (not to mention incredibly cold!) it was a bit of a shock.

It didn’t seem to stop the birds any though, some of the brave ones were still out there, first thing, demanding to be fed.

When I did get out to feed them, I saw all their little footprints in the snow, which was kind of cute, although the sheer volume of them was a little frightening!

Thank goodness for that! That’s all I can say.
Another “festive season” out of the way, so I can finally come out of hibernation for another 11 months!
I know I always sound incredibly grouchy at this time of year, but I just don’t get it.
For one, you have a full month of nothing but the same half dozen songs on every radio station, playing in every shop, department store, and even while you’re on hold with the call centres.
And let’s be honest, they were hardly great songs the first time around, but several years later and after the first couple of hours of the stuff how anyone manages to retain their sanity while shopping, or trying to work in a shop is beyond me.
