Well after a 4am start the decorator is done, the room is all papered and I’m ready to be buried in a shallow unmarked grave.

Still, it wasn’t a total waste, while I was trapped downstairs without my usual computer to entertain me it gave me a chance to order a new juicer (I’m trying a new health therapy involving hourly juicing, see if that improves my health any), a new vacuum (I have urges you know… ) and plenty of time to update my journal software to the new version.

It looks good so far, not that I’ve really noticed much difference so far.

I’m ready for a week off and it’s only Tuesday…

Not to mention I’m not even working, so a week off isn’t really relevant…

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate decorating?

It’s not so much the decorating itself per say, it’s all the stuff that goes with it. Having to move all the junk all around the house, having boxes and said junk in every other room in the house, just in the right place to trip over, or walk into every time you move anywhere.

Go together like peas and cabbage…

Ok so I never could remember the lyrics to that tune. *shrugs* So sue me…

Anyway, not the entry I was planning for today, but I was reading Cia’s blog this morning and got inspired. And after all, inspiration isn’t something to be ignored! (Not to mention for a change it’s not about the local wildlife!)

The thing I’ve always found so odd about the whole thing, people say that children grow up so fast these days.

Well, really, you have to ask yourself what can you expect?

I’ve heard people ask children as young as 8 if they have a boyfriend, or girlfriend.

I’m sorry, but they’re eight! They’re not even supposed to know what the heck to do with the opposite sex, let alone already be dating one!

You know, I’m sure the local wildlife think we’re the animal version of MacDonalds.

They’re running in and out all day and night, it’s like living in a 24 hour drive-thru.

We had the Sparrowhawk back again today, only this time it didn’t get tricked into flying into the window, and it managed to catch a Starling for lunch.

Then in true drive-thru fashion, it sat in the parking lot and ate lunch.

It was fascinating to watch, although you couldn’t help but feel sorry for the poor bird that had just become dinner.

Quick summary of the week so far.

I’m all moved in to my new Florida address… Strange how similar it seems to my other address And I just had an email to say my first item of mail has just been logged in.

It’s a little depressing how happy and excited that bit of news made me…

I’ve ran out of bird seed, the new delivery won’t arrive until tomorrow, so I’ve had to stock the bird feeders up with hedgehog food (they’re going to hurt me, I can tell! )

They’re eating it, as it’s a lot of the same seed, but they’re not happy, they like their fresh fruit and suet mixes. I’m beginning to think they’re maybe a little spoilt…

Looks like myspace is acting up again.

I logged in yesterday and I’m 3 contacts short, and being the dense individual I am at the moment I can’t for the life of me figure out who’s missing. I know two were on my top 20, since I now have two people there that weren’t there before. Oh well, if it’s anyone reading this, I didn’t delete you I swear *pouts*

It would seem this life of crime, debauchery and British weather has finally gotten too much for me.

So I’m moving to America.

Hmm… Can you tell I didn’t get much sleep last night?

Actually when I say moving, technically I’m not actually moving, it’s more of a virtual move.

I’ve been doing a bit of shopping lately from America, and the postal costs (not to mention import duties) are starting to get plain silly. I had a couple of items where the postage and duties actually more than doubled the cost of the item.

I got quite a shock yesterday when I looked out of the window. I know people have said that my garden is turning into some wildlife show, but now it’s just getting silly.

When I looked out of the window yesterday morning we had a blackbird sat in the middle of the hedgehog’s feeding tray (getting its own back for the number of times we see the hedgehog in the bird tray I guess). There were about 15 starlings in the tree next to us, plus another 10 or so scattered around the garden, and 5 all having a communal bath in the bird house.
