Today’s disaster is the digibox (again). We only had the guy out to re-cable the damn thing on Tuesday. I came to watch it last night, and the pictures all distorted again.

I don’t get it, I really don’t. There’s four digital decoders all connected to the same aerial, one goes into my room, one into the living room, one into the kitchen and one into the main bedroom.

The others work, but mine is off.

Well it’s official… I’m an idiot.

I thought I was doing so well, computer was just all running along nicely and I have to go and experiment.

That wouldn’t be so bad, except I was daft enough to think it was simple and managed to wipe out the entire operating system.

I got the final round of alterations to my sparkly new logo yesterday. Now I’m just waiting for the final image, then the various file formats.

I got the logo revisions yesterday.

Well, last week when the initial drafts arrived you’d probably have heard whimpering and sobbing.

Yesterday You’d have heard wild manic giggling and a little cackling thrown in for good measure.

Looks like they’re back on track again, I’ve picked one to run with, just got a couple of minor alterations to make, like add the tail they forgot (you just can’t have a fraggle without a tail, it’s just not on!)

Shouldn’t be long now…

I’m well and truly confuzzled.

Seems like it’s another one of those “I should have just stayed in bed” days.

Yesterday I spent the day reinstalling the computer back to it’s original 64 bit configuration. I couldn’t get things to install on it the first time around, but I finally figured out how to do it, and it seemed a shame to have it running at half it’s speed by using a 32 bit operating system on it.

On the plus side, 64 bit rocked! It was so much faster than 32 bit for processing photos, and even something as simple as opening and cataloguing the contents of a folder.

I even managed to get most of the software installed all by my selfish. I was so proud! (sad isn’t it?)

It’ll make the perfect end to an otherwise depressing week. (Don’t worry I’ll get to that shortly)

This past week has been one unmitigated disaster after another. Technically it all started about 3 weeks ago once the laptop started breaking down, but this last week has been spectacularly unbelievable.

Monday I was just in dazed stupor and by today I was ready to string myself up from the nearest rafter with dental floss…

Why dental floss I hear you ask? Well it’s easier to obtain than rope, much easier to carry and tie knots in, and more importantly you go to the morgue with a glistening smile and smelling minty fresh

Did you do your part?

I did. I reduced my carbon footprint by turning it off!

The problem is, these concerts are great to raise money for charities, but they aren’t really much cop for awareness of global issues. People go, they have a great time, and then they go back about their lives like it never happened.

And having a concert for global warming and carbon emissions? Umm… Am I the only one to notice the number of lights, the number of trucks required to move all the equipment and the number of air flights that will have been used to transport all the acts to tech various locations. It’s a safe bet that lot probably tripled the carbon emissions for the month, if not more.

Seems a bit counter productive to me…

Let me suck the flesh from your bones…

Ok, so it’s not quite how the song goes, but after 9 days without proper computer access my computer dependency issues and withdrawal are at an all time high.

Shiny new computer was ordered on Tuesday and was supposedly dispatched yesterday (why they couldn’t have built it on Tuesday afternoon and sent it out for Tuesday night delivery is beyond me… )

Still it should be here on Monday all being well.
