People in love get fast and foolish…

11/29/2006

The funeral actually went pretty well yesterday, well as well as funerals can go at least.

It was a great turnout; there were around 250 people at the service, which was great. The service itself was very nice, although for some reason I spent most of the time in tears.

That alone was pretty odd, given that I never cry at funerals, the odd time I have, don’t tell anyone, but I’ve actually been faking it. I would prefer not to, but when it’s a member of your family you’re supposed to look desperately upset.

But this was the first time I’ve ever actually cried at a funeral…

So I got a photo taken, not the greatest in the world, but I’m looking like a normal human, no grey in sight and somehow I seem to have managed to hide the bloatedness, hamster cheeks and twelve chins… All in all, I can live with that :-D (more…)

I’m too sexy for Milan…

Since it’s been a while since I’ve been in circulation, I figured I’d better have a dry run ready for the funeral tomorrow.

I think I figured out how to style my hair again, rather than my usual wash it and let it do whatever it likes.

Then there was the tan issue, do I go looking my usual, bloated and slug like, and a highly unattractive shade of grey, or do I go for the fake tan and have everyone thinking I’ve just been somewhere exotic and there’s not a thing the matter with me.

Those three words, are said too much, but it’s not enough…

11/26/2006

It’s been a busy week for a change.

We finally found out that the funeral is going to be Tuesday, which I’m hoping to get to.

Saying that, it doesn’t say much for my social life, the last trip out that didn’t involve an appointment was my Grandfathers funeral two years ago.

*sigh*

I really need to get out more.

Let’s waste time, chasing cars…

It’s bad enough that people die, but I really hate it when it’s so unexpected so nobody has time to prepare.

And no, it’s not somebody in the family, and no I currently have no wish to talk about it.

Now with pictures!

Actually pictures and a movie!

I had a little trundle out to town on Tuesday, and managed to get a little movie clip and some pictures of the window display. One of the stores there does a really fancy window display every christmas. Always reminds me of the movie Mannequin.

Not sure why they only do it at this time of year though. This year’s theme is Gulliver’s Travels.

Far from the battlefield, far from war…

November 11th…

Remembrance day…

A time to see all the old war veterans dust off their finest and go to memorial services.

Services that get smaller and smaller each year as the veterans die off, little by little, one by one.

Whilst I disagree with war, on sheer principle, I also think it’s right that they are remembered, the struggles they faced, the horror they saw and the friends they lost.

Remembering them is the least we can do!

And I got myself a new toy, I found my self a nifty little set of flash players, to play mp3’s playlists and movies. I’ve tried a few free ones, but these were cheap enough and seemed a little more robust. Plus they work as a plugin for my journal software, so less coding to think about :-D
Not sure it’ll work on the swym journal pages though, they still don’t like me using anything but basic coding. I know someone suggested using the DIV tag to isolate the code, but it just stripped that out too… Oh well back to the drawing board on that one I guess…

That’s all so far, but it is still early!
