Rants — Ren @ 8:03 pm
Apparently various places around the country have had to put on extra police to cope with the trick or treating tonight.
The latest craze it appears is to go trick or treating in very large groups with a couple of steel bars. So when they say “trick” they actually mean “obscene violence”.
And I wonder why I like to spend the winter months in hibernation. It has nothing to do with the cold. You start with the arrogant little scrotes running from house to house with their hands out for free sweets or they threaten to smash your face in.
Next it’s penny for the guy…

Being sickly this week, I’ve been doing a fair bit of channel hopping, and found that Sky Three have been showing Tarzan for the past couple of weeks (The 2003 version with Travis Fimmel), and I felt it was worth a mention.
Naturally practically every episode was covered with writing advertising other shows due out on Sky One (why we care is beyond me, but that’s a whole other journal entry)
I remember hearing about them making this show (is it really three years already?) and wondering how they were going to pull it off with someone like Travis Fimmel in the lead role. For one thing he’s too young, and too short, and, well he’s a model not an actor…
So needless to say I sat down to watch this with little intentions of actually enjoying it and quite expecting to loath every minute of it.

Life can be so unfair!
I finally get my internet shopping delivered and I don’t get to enjoy it because I’m passed out on the kitchen floor for hours
Ok, so not entirely true, I was only out for a few seconds, and the shopping had just arrived, which is why I was in the kitchen in the first place.
It wasn’t fun at all though. I’ve never passed out before in my life, or had vertigo… Neither is something I wish to repeat any time soon!

Mondays and Fridays have to be the dullest days of the week.
Friday I spend my day running my antivirus scan, backing up my journal database, then a site backup, then a full server account backup, followed by a defraggle of the hard drive and then a disc image system backup of my computer.
Oh the excitement…
Then Monday seems to end up clearing out the junk, Monday and Thursdays seem to be spam day, so it’s wade through that lot to make sure I haven’t missed anything important.

You know, life would be so much easier if I was either less creative, or more talented.
I bought a flash template a week or two back ready to revamp my blog and gallery. Initially I was planning to make the alterations to the template myself, but after several attempts it was pretty clear, left to my own devices I’d be lucky if a single thing was still working by the time I’d finished attempting anything more complex than simple text changes.
So I emailed them today for a quote to do it for me.
I just got the price back… Initial estimate… $700.
I’m surprised they could hear the shriek three continents over!

Well the weather sure has changed! For the first time since mid April I’ve had the window shut because it was too cold.
You can also see the trees starting to loose their leaves and change colour. Although the strange thing is those same trees were late in having their berries and blossom. But maybe that was down to the summer heat wave and lack of rain.

Well I’m feeling rather sluttish, sordid and a tad grubby this morning.
I knew myspace wasn’t a good idea (although it has made for several good rants of late :-D)
Some random somebody (or should that be nobody?) invited me to join their community there and be their friend.
Seems nice enough right?
Yeah.. not likely!

It’s been a long time since I’ve had any forwards. And even longer since any of them were worth reading, let alone taking the time to write in the first place or forward to anyone but the junk folder.
Still this one I thought was worth sharing.
I’m not totally convinced that it’s based on true events and not made up for the purpose, but still, the sentiment is there, so I guess any (or lack of) factual accuracy is irrelevant.
What would you do?….you make the choice. Don’t look for a punch line, there isn’t one.. Read it anyway. My question is: Would you have made the same choice?

It’s been a long time since I was up and around to watch Saturday morning television.
What happened?
Saturday mornings always used to be for the kids, something for them to get up for and keep them entertained for a few hours while the parents had a lie in I’d imagine.
What have we got today?
The two channels that used to have all the Saturday morning shows are now both showing “Interactive food and cooking show”s
Yeah, I can really see that appealing to children the country over… :confuzzled:

I got the aerial cabled up properly yesterday, I gather the cable up in the loft was in such a mess it’s more a wonder I got any picture than that it went off every now and then.
Naturally, every electrical in the room is situated around the aerial socket, so I had to dismantle every last thing so he could get in to fit it.
Four hours it took to sort it all out and get everything reconnected.
You wouldn’t believe we live in the time of wireless accessories would you?
