What is it with people and text speak lately?

So many people are using it these days, are they mentally challenged in some way, or just out and out lazy?

I can see the point in text messages on mobiles, where you’re restricted to the number of characters you can use per message, but I just can’t see the point of it in emails, IM’s and blog entries.

Let’s face it…

It’s a nightmare to try and read, and I wouldn’t have said it was any easier to try and type, especially when you’re sat at a full sized keyboard…

Isn’t it always the way?

If something’s going to break, it’s going to do it at the worst possible time

I have a loft space above my room that I use for storage. When it was built it was supposed to be insulated like a room, unfortunately the builder got the wrong idea and insulated it from the house. So the bedroom stays nice and warm, but the loft is freezing in winter, and you get a gale force draft coming through the gaps in the loft hatch because of the wildly differing temperature between the rooms.

End result was I had to get a heater to dry the stuff out and try and stop it getting cold and damp again.

Naturally, the coldest wettest week we’ve had all winter and the heater packs up.

Hmm who knew there was a song about dentists on Little Shop of Horrors? Not me that’s for sure

Still it seems appropriate.

We got a letter this morning to say that our dentist is going private, and will no longer be offering NHS services.

You’d think this would be good, wouldn’t you? Whilst you might have to pay instead of getting it free (or mostly free) you’ll at least get seen much faster and with better service.

There’s something strangely comforting waking up to find the house is freezing cold and it’s snowing heavily outside. Course it’s not quite so comforting if you know you’re going to have to go outside in it though…

But when you don’t, and you can just lay there and snuggle back into the douvet…

It’s lovely.

In other news, the chunk I took out of my foot when I jammed it in the door on Tuesday has grown back already, and I can’t even feel the toe that was operated on the other day, so I guess it’s all good this weekend…

I was looking at a site earlier and got an error message… Turns out there’s a lot of humans pretending to be robots and robots trying to pass themselves off as human… Ahh only on the internet…

Seems robots even get a et of instructions on good netiquette…

Here’s a question, eBay… anyone else sometimes look at the pictures and wonder why people bothered?

Some people use such poor pictures you’re hard pushed to tell what it is even supposed to be, let alone whether it’s something that you want to buy… A fact that really bugs me!

One hour, 8 injections and a pair of pliers later and I’m all toeless… Well nailless at least.

One thing I will say, the podiatrist doing the operation assured me that after he put the acid on to burn away the nail bed, it wouldn’t hurt because it would not only burn away the root, but the nerve endings too…

Now if I’ve set this up right, this entry will be automatically posted 4 hours after I wrote it…

I would say isn’t technology grand, but I’m not sure if it’ll work or not yet, so I’ll hold off and try not to jinx it!

Anyway… assuming that it has worked, it’s now 5pm and I’ll be laid out on the bed having my toe nail amputated… :sofa: I contemplated setting up my digital camera to record the happy event, since it should only take 10 minutes to do (followed by 3 weeks of pain and 8 weeks of healing) and my digital camera should have enough capacity for 10 minutes of recording… But I decided that might be a bit too disturbing…

Besides, I wouldn’t want to watch it, and I think I’d be a bit too scared of anyone that did want to sit and watch it… So I’ll hold off.

Looks like I’m still logoless. Kind of my own fault I guess, I found somewhere cheap on ebay that did logos, but I didn’t really allow for the fact that I had something pretty specific in mind, nor did I check to confirm they logos were drawn by hand, rather than clipart/template stock images put together to create logos.

On the other hand, the person doing it has been in hospital, which obviously put a crimp in the production speed, and he has managed to get someone else who is hopefully going to be able to draw the required element of the logo (that would be the naked fraggle… They’re just so hard to find apparently :-p)

So all being well, I’ll have a nice shiny logo within another couple of weeks *cross every appendage he can find*

I want my logo NOW damnit!
