I have new mail waiting…

Yes the postman arrived with a nice package and was suitably molested in my haste to see what was being delivered… But that’s for a later entry :-D
Right now I’m uploading my photos to my new gallery. It’s taken longer than i thought to set it back up. I had left all the files, so I didn’t think it would take any effort, but it’s been so long since I did anything with it, I managed to mess up the settings because I had forgotten what to do :hair:

But it’s set up, and now just requires me to upload all the images… :sigh: It could be a long night!

Also back by popular demand, song lyric entitled journal entries!

I have to say, I got sick of them at one point, then after I stopped using them I found myself struggling to work out what to title the entries. But my swydm poll shows that a ratio of 2:1 people want them back.

Ok, so it only got 3 votes, but a 2:1 ratio is a 2:1 ratio, no matter how many… or few people vote! :-D
Don’t you just love ratio and algebraic maths? :dances:

I also got to spend a very long three hours yesterday locking all the comments on my past journal entries.

I’ve been getting so much journal spam over the past couple of months, trying to delete them all has doubled my bandwidth usage, and my anti-spam journal software just can’t keep up!

I tried banning the originating IP address, but it got to the point where the IP blocking list looked longer than the journal did. So the next option is to lock all the old entries and just leave a couple of weeks worth of entries open. It’s a pain unless I can find a way to automate the process, but it’s still easier than having to de-spam half my journal every couple of days.

So, once I get the photos uploaded, that’s my gallery up to date, and ready for any additions. With going back to the old system, it not only means I could get rid of the gallery software (giving me more space for entries and photos) but it means I can add photos just by logging into my journal, I can have longer descriptions, or proper photoblog entries, and you can still leave comments.

I don’t have photo rating anymore, but I could never see the point of having it anyway, so it’s no great loss :-D
I just need to get my new journal online for tomorrow and then everything will be back on track!
