Well, some things in this world you just can’t change, some things you can’t see until it gets too late…

I guess it’s that time again… The computer is on the fritz again, everything is either not working or keeps crashing about my ears… So time to clear out my files, perform an 8 hour backup, then three days of formatting and reinstalling all my programs.

Now would be a good time to try Linux again… But I don’t know if I’ve got the patience at the moment :-D

On the plus side, it’s amazing what you can find when you have a clear out… Apart form dozens of duplicate files, I found the rest of July’s journal smurfing entries :bounces: So if I can keep the computer running long enough I might be able to put them up before I reinstall :dances:

But love is not a victory march, It’s a cold and it’s a broken hallelujah…

It’s amazing how fast you forget…

It’s 3 years already since the tragedy of the twin towers in New York.

In some ways it doesn’t seem that long, but in other ways it feels like a lifetime ago.

I’ve heard people say that if you’re not an American, then you can’t fully understand the tragedy and loss of that day.

But pain is universal; you don’t have to be a particular nationality, colour, creed or religion to feel the loss of so many lives in your very soul. Whether you were there or not, whether you knew people there or not, if you’re human you can’t help but feel… Something…

If I could turn back time…

:-(( I was all set to update my smurfing bar… But I can’t find the pictures :-(( I’m going to have to run a file search later to hunt them out…

Speaking of photos, we think my grandfather has just about come around to staying in a care home. He’s been there about a month and hasn’t attempted a single escape, is getting on well with the staff and is looking much better for getting regular (and home-cooked) meals!

I’ve spent the evening going through a bag full of old photos. The plan being to scan anything usable, clean them up a bit and make a photo album up for him.

What a beautiful day (hey hey)

What a beautiful day (hey hey)
I’m the king of all time
And nothing is impossible
In my all powerful mind…

Not sure why that song came to me all of a sudden, I haven’t heard it in years!

A slow day today. Bonnie had her acupuncture yesterday, electro-acupuncture and acupressure massage. Then she got home and I gave her a good vacuum since she’s moulting… Again…

These words are my own…

I think I should be worried.

There was a singer on the TV earlier on a local roadshow. My first thought was ok, since it was “Eeek, that’s Newcastle!” But my second…

:-(( My second thought was “Who on earth dressed this girl? That skirt is so dated, the top does nothing for her, and those washed out purple socks so don’t go with the 4 clashing shades of blue she’s wearing…”

So… Ummm… Should I be as worried as I think I should? :worries:

Oh and I’ve just discovered that when www.swydm.com isn’t working (it’s displaying database error again) that you can use » No Comments

Dr. Jones, Jones, calling Dr. Jones…

I had hoped to have the wedding story finished by now, but what with sleeping all day and doggy sitting all night, I haven’t really had a chance. And I won’t get any done tomorrow, since it’s vet day so Bonnie can get her acupuncture and the vet can take a look at her leg to see why she’s limping all of a sudden.

Poor thing, she’s currently only got one good leg. She has a degenerative nerve condition, so she can’t always get her back two legs to do what she’s telling them. If they aren’t where she put them she relies on her front two legs to keep her upright, only she’s finding it difficult to put her weight on one of them, so when she first gets up there’s rather a lot of carrying involved!

It’s been a long day, always, ain’t that right…

09/01/2004

Well, I spent close to 3 hours going through various galleries and profiles looking for incriminating photos for my “wedding” scrapbook. I’ve figured out how everyone fits in the grand scheme of things, and thanks to goggle’s cache, I’ve even got one or two people who are no longer with us :bounces:

Now I just need to finish writing the tale… But at least I’m getting there! I want to read back through the forum wedding, and the PM’s I got about it way back then… For inspiration you understand :-D You know I’d actually forgotten how much fun this all was, back in the days when sydm had forums… And happy people… These days it seems everyone is either closing their profiles *looks guilty* or closing their accounts altogether, usually with no notice and no forwarding addresses  Some people have no thought!

For the first time in history, it’s gonna start raining men…

And this is a good thing?

Ok, so writing up the wedding entry is taking rather longer than I expected… I hadn’t realised how many extra guests there were to try and weave in.

In the mean time… If I parcel my genitals into a small paper bag… Can I be a woman… Please? :flirt:

I’m rather anti men at the moment… Not in a warped twisted way you understand… More in a “I’d rather not even be associated with the species let alone the gender” kind of way.

But then… I guess my dear friend Martha can probably explain it better than I can… :-D
