Or does it seem a blatantly bad idea to wake someone up to ask them what time they wanted to be woken?

Is it just me? :confuzzled:

Maybe it is… It might explain why my mother keeps doing it, and seems unable to understand why I’m a tad… Ummm… Tetchy when she does it.

Take today for example… My last words before I went to bed was that I would get up when I got up, but if I wasn’t up by 5pm, wake me.

Seems reasonable enough… Simple enough… Straightforward enough…

Isn’t it?

I go to bed, and get woken by the phone, not once, but twice! (I do wish people would stop telephoning before 6pm, especially when they know I’m in bed during the day!

Anyway, next thing I know I’m being woken at 2:30 in the afternoon…

“Mark… Mark… MARK! It’s half past two… What time did you want to be woken up?”

Fortunately I had my face surgically implanted into the pillow at the time, so even I didn’t hear my first response… I seem to remember it was a tad impolite… :asbestos:

Of course, because I was a little tetchy… Ok, out-right irritable if you must know… Because of that my mother has been in a mood all day… Because “There’s no need to speak to me like that, I thought you wanted to be woken earlier than that!”

Some people have no idea… Unless it really is just me that finds that annoying…

Of course don’t even get me started on being woken up by someone barging into the room and asking in a voice that’s just designed to wake even the recently deceased…

“Are you still awake…?”

*muffled screams, thumping and throwing of objects*
