Call me, call me any, anytime…
08/27/2004
I think I’m getting less and less patient the older I get.
I seem to be so irritated by people lately. The people who just can’t follow the simplest of instruction… I have this almost uncontrollable urge to beat them senseless with a large haddock.
The same could be said for tele-sales persons who ring up and spend half an hour telling you how they really aren’t going to give you the hard sell and sales pitch… Then proceed to tell you why you just have to buy their product. You tell them you don’t want it, you explain to them how you aren’t working and have no money… They tell you what a offer of a lifetime it is, how you’re saving so much money then put you on hold for 30 seconds and offer you another £50 off.
If you can knock even more money off… It can’t have been that good an offer! I’m still working on finding a tele-sales person who can understand the concept of “I’m not working… I have no money” If I have no money, it doesn’t matter if you offer it to me for £150 or £100… I still have no money! Even worse was the fact that I had just explained that I had used earlier versions of the software… I still have most of them, and after trying it I’ve never used them since…
Now where’s that haddock… ![]()

I dislike the automatic messages even more. ‘Hi, your phone number has been selected as a lucky winner, you are guaranteed one of the following prizes: blahdiblahblahblah’ To claim your prize, call blahblahblahdiblah, please note that calls cost £100 and if you don’t answer all 20 questions correctly, you lose. Bleh. People suck!

Ooo you’re right… The automated ones are even worse… I don’t know about you, but I think it’s such a cheek that we have to get all these cold calls, but that some places don’t even have the decency to hire a real person!:-o I have to apologise publicly… I am rather rude to them… The second I realise it’s an automated voice… I… Umm… I hang up on it :hide:
