Well this is fun… My computer has crashed, so I’m currently running the knoppix Linux operating system from CD in the other machine while the laptop does a complete backup, format and reinstall. It’s slow as molasses for some reason, given the power of the machine… But it’s fun to work with
Daytime television again, while I wait to change discs, and the taxi entry later on once I get back on my full system.

Today I’m thinking violence, abuse and battered husbands and wives.

Well I’m feeling more than a little worse for wear today… I knew I overdid it yesterday…

But I have a plan for the day…

I plan on sitting here, eating another tub of Ben & Jerry’s triple chocolate fudge, installing some plugin software for my journal, a language filter, a reply plugin that will let people know if there are any replies to their comments, and a plugin that will add the latest gallery photos back onto my journal menu.

Oh yeah and I still have the Martha Stewart taxi monologue to finish…

Well today went better than expected. Work paid for a taxi to take me in, which was good, although the taxi ride was an experience in itself, a white knuckle, death defying high speed car chase, followed by a driver with no change smaller than a £20… *raises eyebrow* Uh huh…! Can we say “Con”?

But that’s for the next entry.

I actually had fun. It was nice to see everybody again, it’s been about 10 months since I saw them all last, I’m only sorry that it was such a quiet day so there were a lot of people not on the rota to work today who I didn’t get to see and catch up with.

Ok, lets talk hair!

I’m sure by now most of you are aware of the rather bizarre conversations I get caught up in… Well I had one the other week (with about 3 different people) about genital shaving. Well it was about general shaving to begin with, and ended up being about genital shaving.

Now I have to ask… HOW is it even possible…? I mean, I get razor burn just looking at a razor!

But I’m getting ahead of myself…

You need some background before I tell you about my current state of razor burn where razors were never meant to go…

I wonder why it is that Americans (and Canadians for that matter) can get away with saying “Have a nice day” to customers, and it sounds natural… If a British person says it… Well it just sounds fake, false and usually sarcastic…

I have to go into work tomorrow, and the more I think about it, the more I’m wondering why. Lets face it, I can email my hours in, and they can post my final payslip out… Yet not only are they wanting me to go in for an hour or so… But they are going to send someone out to pick me up and bring me in…

I’ve just sat and watched my new DVD… There’s something strangely disturbing about sitting in bed, on your own, in a dark room for an hour and a half, panting, moaning, squeaking and having to hold your own genitals so you don’t wet yourself…

*sigh*

Does this mean I’m getting old, sad and pathetic… Or just that comedies shouldn’t be watched this late at night after having consumed 2 pints of milk on your cereal?

I’m having an allergic reaction to my lunch… I have to go into work to get my p45 and do a handover either tomorrow or Wednesday (and I don’t wanna!)… My gallery still isn’t finished… I’ve been playing with the camera… and I got a new Victoria Wood DVD…

Sorry there’s nothing interesting to read today, but under the circumstance… I’m taking said DVD and going to bed…

The movie file was just far too big yesterday, I’ve managed to shrink it to just over 5Mb.

Well finally after over two months… I finally managed to get a comedy clip onto the computer…

Some of you may remember The Ballad of Barry and Freda… For those that don’t I’ll explain…

It is a comedy song written (and performed) by a British comedienne called Victoria Wood. The clip below was taken from the television program “An Audience with Victoria Wood” from the late 1980’s. Now you should watch the entire thing, as this song is the finale… But it’s still very funny! It is rather large (14.5Mb)… but I’ve posted the lyrics in the extended part of this entry to give you the idea… and it’s more than worth watching

I would then suggest you download the clip, as it’s even funnier seeing it performed, laugh your guts out, then go and buy the dvd at the first available opportunity!
