Right, that’s the niceties out of the way…

So down to business.

This is the entry where I explain how this all works. I know a lot of people haven’t used this journal system before, so I’m going to give you a quick low-down on what’s where and what it all does.

It’s pretty self explanatory, but I want to list it all out for anyone who isn’t sure.

Ok… Firstly the basics…

On the main journal page you have a daily calendar, which is obvious, further down you have the monthly archives, and the recent post lists. All pretty obvious.

Below them you have an “Archives by Category” section, which I want to explain.

On this system, you can categorize your posts, so here is a list of those categories, and what they cover. This way if you want to read a particular type of entry, you know exactly where to look!

And people actually read this junk…? This covers the various journal stats… Mostly from the swydm journal, but I may use some direct from here once in a while.

I feel like being Randomly random General, random entries… This is also where you will find any quizilla style things.

I need to go to the funny farm! These are the comedy entries, such as my Martha Stewart Monologues… I’m told they’re good for a laugh :-p

It’s life… But not as you know it… These entries are things that are going on in my life… What I’m doing, where I’ve been, that kind of thing.

It’s smurfing time…! These are the journal pimping competitions, updates and results.

Lock up the sharp objects-I’m Ranting Irritable, sarcastic and on the rampage… That just about sums up this category!

Ooo now isn’t this profound? My thoughts on various topics. They probably aren’t… But I like to think they are profound

Riddle me this… Things that bug me, but don’t have enough sarcasm to be a full blown rant.

Self Discovery – A journey into the unknown These entries go into the inner workings of my mind, where I sort out my own personal issues, ghosts and fears on paper… So to speak…

Tell me a story…Some of my writings, the none comedy sort. Not much so far, but I do hope to be adding to it eventually.

Time to mingle with the masses My pimping entries… Not many so far, but I will occasionally add to them

Would you like some cheese with that whine? General moaning, whining and complaining, with varying degrees of sarcasm, just without the energy required for a proper rant.

Right… I think that covers the workings… Oh, there’s a search box that will let you search the journal for keywords, perfect if you’re looking for a specific entry. And you have to click on the “Continue reading” links of each entry to read the full thing. But I’m just stating the obvious now, aren’t I?

Oh, there’s also a guestbook where you can leave any comments or messages for me. I did have a tagboard for people to have a chatter, but it was just far too slow to load. I’ve since ditched that and have set up my own site forum for random conversation. But I’m in two minds whether or not to keep it, since it will probably hammer my bandwidth allocation… I’ll think about that. The links will be on the menu bar, whatever I decide to keep.

What’s this journal all about?

Well, it all started, way back when, as something to occupy my time. It was distracting and therapeutic at the same time.

Since then it has grown. I still write it for myself, but it’s more than a distraction.

The aim for some time now, has been to express myself, work out my issues, but also to make people laugh, cry, nod their heads in agreement and hopefully show that you can’t take life too seriously, it takes all sorts to make the world go round… and that insanity really is the best way to go

When did it all start?

Way back on a warm summers day in 1975… Oh you mean the journal? Well that was the end of April 2003, but it’s new aim, and the serious bloging began around July 2003.

Where is everything?

Umm… Have you been listening to a thing I’ve been saying…? :-p

Why “nakedfraggle.com”

Well that’s a long story that is the culmination of about 6 months of journal entries, and comments about psycho smurf dances, mad muppet dances, doing the Fraggle Rock and finally naked fraggle pole dancing… But that’s another story.

The short version, fraggles are fun but could be serious too, a naked fraggle has nothing to hide behind, and that is the idea behind this journal. I can be mad, wacky and down right odd, but I can also be deep, meaningful and serious (occasionally :-p) and since the journal contains my innermost thoughts and workings, in some ways I’m naked for the world to see.

And so nakedfraggle.com was born.
