Today is a rather nothing entry. I got broadband working happily yesterday (finally), and as I suspected, got up this morning to find it had all died.

It looks like the broadband modem is faulted as it keeps dropping the signal, and changing frequencies without any warning.

However, when I did finally get a reliable signal, my connection speed was slower than my dial-up connection. *sob*

Can you believe it? All this time waiting for broadband, and I ended up having to use a dialup connection to check my emails today.

*rolls eyes*

The speed improves from 11:30pm (ish), and is ok until about 8:30am (ish) So I’m guessing someone, or several someone?s are getting up and setting their computers away downloading large numbers of files, or more likely music files or the latest pirated films.

I am NOT a happy puppy!

So tomorrow I will have a real fun day.

Ring the tax office to see if I can get an extension on my tax return (urgh!), then ring the internet company to find out what is up with the service (or lack of) and then I can ring the internet store to find out about a replacement for the broadband modem.

What fun
I will be staying up late today too; I want to see Mars, which should be nice and visible at about 1am tonight. Apparently it will be really close and this only happens once every 6o thousand years. Hmmm, I could be wrong, but I think my sex life will be working to the same time scale
Well I’m off to watch Aliens, then after my phone calls tomorrow; I guess I’d better make a start on the wedding story so I can post it before the forum deadline.
