Friends of the world…
06/14/2003
After reading a forum question this morning (one sided friendship ) it got me thinking about friendship. Pretty much everyone I know is the one sided kind.
They’re the ones who only call when they want something, who you only chat to when you ring to see how they are (and you’re paying for the call) Oh and of course the old favourite “Do you fancy doing something?” (Which we all know means they want to go out but everyone else they know is busy, or they can’t find anyone else that comes with free transport!)
So what is it about friendship that eludes me? Am I just finding the wrong people, is there such a thing as a true friend out there anymore in a society where everyone puts themselves ahead of everyone and everthing else? Or am I just expecting too much?
I just don’t get it. *sigh*
On the surface, when I look around, everyone else appears to have it sussed. Well everyone EXCEPT me that is. But looking at the forum answers *points up* quite a few people have found the same thing.
Wheee I’m not alone! *Dances of into the sunset (alone)*

I have way too many friends like that. (off-line)
I find myself seperating from them more and more , some I have a few hundred kms distance between us and they only ever contact me when they are in “need” of my services.

i have a decent group of friends who don’t take advantage of me and are there for me when i need them, i found these types of people when i learnt to say “NO” the moment those two little letters are out of your mouth it becomes an addiction to say them all the time lol but you do weed out the false friends and the real ones stick around…
