Blah Blah Woof Woof

Well I had another run in with my boss yesterday implying that I’m not pulling my weight. It’s about the third time this week, and I’ve only been in two days!
But the nicest thing happened in the morning. I was talking it over with someone else at work and I happened to mention the fact that I’m looking for another job and in the next few months (or sooner if I get too much more attitude) I’m planning to leave, with or without another job to go to. She told me that I couldn?t leave and that she and at least one member of staff had been planning to walk out a few weeks ago, and I was the only reason they hadn?t. She also told me that work was more bearable when I was about because I made sure everyone else was ok, had the equipment etc. and I would sort out any problems for anyone.
I didn?t know what to say. It was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.
Just thought I would add a couple of other things:
Two things said to me:
1. Don’t ever change, always be you.
2. Someone at work told me that if I hadn’t been there to make life easier for people, they would have walked out weeks ago, and that I came back from holiday just in time.
Nicest thing said about me when i wasn’t there:
There’s a lot more to him than meets the eye… He’s not who you first think he is.
Laptop?s still wrecked, and Sonys official position is that after 4 years of formatting and reinstalling my system and manually configuring everything every 2 months, I?ve suddenly become unable to configure my ISP access, so it?s my own problem. Needless to say I spent yesterday afternoon (about 3 hours in all) having some very heated discussions with various departments at Sony about their attitude, poor service, lack of professionalism and general inability to diagnose and repair a fault that hasn?t been mapped out on 3 packs of post-it-notes by the customer themselves.
I?m getting a modem expert from Brussels ringing me on Tuesday to get more information and try and troubleshoot over the phone. Since I already know it?s the hardware, it will then be collected on Thursday for another repair. (I?m making them send it to France this time though; no way Heathrow is getting their mitts on it. They?ll only lose it again.)
