But I had it in a bun, so it turned into a hamburger.

If I’d had any cheese it would have been a double cheeseburger.

Another day another technical nightmare.

I’m still doing at least one 14-hour day at work over the past few weeks and it’s finally starting to kill me. I’ve had 4 days off and I can still hardly walk, or even move for that matter.

I was hoping that I could keep going until the network was all finished, but it’s not looking too good so far. Back to work tomorrow, then a 14-hour day on Friday (the last one I hope!) If not I’m on the verge of total collapse, and too many more days is going to push me over the limit.

Ok what’s going on?

I saw a DVD in the shop a few days ago called G-Force £4.99 (ok having watched it I now know why) and it was obviously Battle of the Planets that I used to watch as a kid. great I thought, I’m having that. So I ran to the counter DVD (ok several DVD’s if you must know) clutched in one hand money clutched in the other as I ran toward the nearest member of staff waving my soon to be purchased goodies at him. After I’d calmed down a bit and the staff member pointed out I really needed a member of staff with a till in front of them, I managed to make my purchase without any further incident.

Ooooohhhhh, I think I’m in love…

Before anyone sits there reading this thinking “Ahh that’s so sweet”, trust me it’s not. Falling in love with inanimate objects is closer to the tragic than the sweet. However falling in love with a piece of software is even worse. But after installing a new operating system (Linux redhat 9.0 if you care) it was love at first sight.

Well the original title was going to be Zzzzz…Thud, but nah I’ve already used Zzzzz before. Plagiarism?s all very well, but it’s just not the same when it’s stealing from yourself!

Having said that I am so tired. Two 8-hour days and two 14-hour days this week. Managed to do 44 and a quarter hours over 4 days at work.

After reading a forum question this morning (one sided friendship ) it got me thinking about friendship. Pretty much everyone I know is the one sided kind.

They’re the ones who only call when they want something, who you only chat to when you ring to see how they are (and you’re paying for the call) Oh and of course the old favourite “Do you fancy doing something?” (Which we all know means they want to go out but everyone else they know is busy, or they can’t find anyone else that comes with free transport!)

Yikes!

Got finished at 11:15 last night, which wasn’t bad.
I’m totally wrecked.

I don’t know how the bar and kitchen staff do it day after day, 10 hour days 5-6 days per week then it’s a 70 hour week for at least a month in the run up to christmas.

I’ve done 9 hour days before, first 14 though. All I did last week was 32 hours over 3 days and I’m totally finished.

I need sleep!

Had to go into work yesterday for network file migration. Got there for 8:10am, network expert was due at 8:30, had had a few technical glitches so he was running a little late. Well there was me expecting a fairly short day (ok so I wanted to be home in time for stargate and smallville).

Well wanna know what time I got finished? 10:15pm

Well I had another run in with my boss yesterday implying that I’m not pulling my weight. It’s about the third time this week, and I’ve only been in two days!

But the nicest thing happened in the morning. I was talking it over with someone else at work and I happened to mention the fact that I’m looking for another job and in the next few months (or sooner if I get too much more attitude) I’m planning to leave, with or without another job to go to. She told me that I couldn?t leave and that she and at least one member of staff had been planning to walk out a few weeks ago, and I was the only reason they hadn?t. She also told me that work was more bearable when I was about because I made sure everyone else was ok, had the equipment etc. and I would sort out any problems for anyone.

I got a new jet hose

First time I’ve ever used one, but I spent about 3 happy hours playing with it in the back garden. Got about a quater of the patio cleaned with it. It takes ages, but it’s the cleanest it’s been in years. Hands and knewws with soap, water and a scrubbing brush doesn’t even come close to the cleaning power of this thing. Even better, it’s less painful to the old joints than the previous scrubbing brush method.

So that’s my days off next week taken care of. I’m washing my hair! Or at least I’m washing the patio, then washing patio dirt out of my hair
